2019 PGA Tour: US Open June 14, 2019 by Marc Jerbs

The opening round of the US Open in Pebble Beach Golf Links started Thursday, June 13. A total of 16 players in the morning tee times opened their 1st round with under par scores.

The Pebble Beach Golf Link historically is a brutal course near the sea coast but that did not happen since the condition are calm that led to low scores.

Justin Rose scored 6-under 65 to hold a one-shot lead over the group of Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, Louis Oosthuizen and Aaron Wise.

These are the players who capitalized on the great playing condition presented by the Pebble Beach Golf Links.

The second round begin on Friday and the scores will be dependent again on the weather.

Tiger Woods opened his first round with a 1-under par 71 and is tied for 28th place.

He is still not in his best form but he's fortunate as one of the golfers that was under par in the 1st round.

There is still time for him to elevate his level of play with three round left in the US Open.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Justin Rose as the man to beat on Sunday's final round of the US Open.
