On Thursday, the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, TX will host the inaugural DXL Frisco Bowl. The Frisco Bowl was formerly known as the Miami Beach Bowl and was played in Miami, FL. It will be Louisiana Tech versus SMU in this year's Frisco Bowl. Game time is set at 8PM ET.
The SMU football team has finally returned to the bowl games. They are in deep preparation for their first bowl game since 2012. Coach Sonny Dykes took the coaching helm after the regular season as former coach Chad Morris left the team together with some assistants to coach Arkansas.
Coach Dykes did not pushed for his preferred Air Raid offense but instead sit back and allow some of the assistants left to call the game and let his team play with their strengths. He want his players to continue the offensive book they learned with their former coach until Frisco Bowl. He does not want to add pressure to his team as the season is about to close.
Louisiana Tech was one of the fortunate teams that was invited to the postseason sporting a 6-6 record. They played well in their final weeks of the regular season in order to draw interest for postseason considerations. This team is expected to push and play hard against SMU as they know what's at stake.
The sportsbook handicappers have installed SMU as a 4.5-point favorite to beat Louisiana Tech on Thursday night.
