2012 NFL Season Week 3:NY Giants vs. Carolina PanthersSeptember 18, 2012 by Mark Jerbs

On Thursday, the Carolina Panthers goes up against the defending SuperBowl champion NY Giants at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. Kick off is set at 8:20PM ET.

The Carolina Panthers Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints proved that their lackadaisical loss in Week 1 was just an aberration. Carolina's running game was in full throttle as it amassed 219 yards and QB Cam Newton threw for 253 yards and ran for 71 yards.

The Panthers' passing and running game was too much for the Saints to handle. Carolina must display again this kind of game once the face the NY Giants.

The NY Giants are still reeling from their Week 1 loss against the Dallas Cowboys. In Week 2, Tampa Bay was right for the picking as they harassed QB Eli Manning throughout the 1st half.

As a Super Bowl champ, QB Eli Manning summoned his inner strength and superb passing as he shook off his first half trouble and delivered an outstanding performance as he led the Giants in a come from behind win over the Buccaneers.

His final line was short of an MVP performance if you removed the 3 interceptions. He completed 31 passes in 51 attempts which amassed 510 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Giants will be again tested by the Panthers this coming Thursday.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the NY Giants as a 1-point favorite to beat the Carolina Panthers. Expect both quarterback to shoot it out with each other in order the lead their respective teams to victory.
