2011 PGA Tour:John Deere ClassicJuly 06, 2011 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the PGA Tour moves to TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois for the annual John Deere Classic. This is the last PGA Tour tune up event for players who qualified for next week's British Open.

Veteran Steve Stricker is the two-time defending champion of the John Deere Classic. He's main mission is get his third consecutive win and probably bolster his confidence for next week's upcoming major tournament in Kent, England.

His first round time is set at 7:30am ET and he's paired with David Toms and Mark Wilson. Mark Wilson could be a competitive buddy since he's seeking his third win of the season. David Toms also won this tournament in 1997 but was held in a different golf course.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed two-time defending champion Steve Stricker as the odds on favorite to win his three consecutive John Deere Classic trophy. However, Jason Day may emerge as his stiff competitor and possibly ends Stricker's three-peat dreams.
