2011 NFL Sunday Week 7:Pittsburgh Steelers vs.
Arizona CardinalsOctober 19, 2010 by Marc Jerbs

On Sunday, the Arizona Cardinals hosts the Pittsburgh Steelers for an AFC-NFC game at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Kickoff is set at 4:05PM ET.

The Cardinals are coming off a bye week. They have two weeks to prepare against the Steelers and also help them rest their player's banged up bodies. They are in 3rd place in the NFC West with a 1-4 record and have lost four straight games.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt was optimistic that their long layoff would be helpful for the team as they try to snap their losing streak. However, it is hard to play coming off a bye week when your next opponent has the momentum coming off a big win, just like the Steelers. It is possible that the Cardinals may score an upset win just like in 2007 when they beat the Steelers, 21-14.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are slowly regaining their form as the season progresses. It is difficult for a defense-oriented team to find their form coming from a shortened offseason due to the NFL's CBA negotiations.

It was evident in their 17-13 win against the Jaguars that the Steelers lack the consistency in maintaining their defensive set for the whole game. In the first half, the defense shutdown the Jaguars but after halftime it was different story. Yet, the defense still manages to hold their fort for the win.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Pittsburgh Steelers a 3.5-point favorite to beat the Arizona Cardinals. Pittsburgh may have a point to prove after their 2007 loss against Arizona.
