Last week, Paul Menard stretched his fuel mileage and held off hard-charging Jeff Gordon to earn his first career win as a Sprint Cup driver and first win of the 2011 season. He is also the 14th different race winner in 20 races this season.
Carl Edwards still leads the driver's standings with 682 points. He has a slim 11 point lead over Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick sits at 3rd place. Other notable drivers inside the Top 10 are Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The sportsbook handicappers have installed Denny Hamlin as the favorite to win this Sunday's Good Sam RV Insurance 500. Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson would be his main challengers throughout the race.
