As the College Football drew to a close, all football fans and tailgaters are locked up for the BCS championship at the Rose Bowl. On Thursday, top-ranked Alabama and second-ranked Texas will lock horns and do a mano-a-mano for the coveted national championship trophy.
On paper, it looks like the Alabama Crimson Tide has all the advantages against the Texas Longhorns. They have Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and six first-team All-Americans plus they have coach Nick Saban at the helm. Alabama is gunning its first national championship trophy since 1992. The hunger factor is quite evident in the Tide's SEC title game against then-No.1 Florida Gators last Dec. 5. For them to succeed, they put away all their big wins this season and set aside all the hype circulating at the Rose Bowl.
The Texas Longhorns will be led by star QB Colt McCoy plus an equally loaded roster that could match up pretty well against Alabama. They are viewed as the underdog at the Rose Bowl. But let's not forget they beat USC last 2005 on Vince Young's brilliant plays. The Longhorns proved that they can rise to any challenges that opponents threw at them and they like being an underdog. That could be a sign that it won't be an easy game for Alabama.
The sports book handicappers installed the Alabama Crimson Tide as a slight favorite to takedown the Texas Longhorns. If there would be an upset win the Longhorns are capable to bring the house down.
