2010 PGA TOUR:WM Phoenix OpenFebruary 24, 2010 by JP Cheeks

Last Friday, the golf world stood still as Tiger Woods appeared for his 13-minute apology for his recent personal problem that has affected himself, his family and PGA Tour avid followers. To summarize, Tiger's main priority is to seek counsel and fix his family before playing golf again. Folks, it's time for us to give him his needed space and continue the show at the PGA Tour without Tiger.

On Thursday, the TPC Scottsdale Golf Course in Arizona will host the WM Phoenix Open. Kenny Perry is the defending champion and he'll be pitted against the best field of golfers all over the world. Among his competitors are Geoff Ogilvy, Ryan Palmer, Ben Crane, Cameron Beckman and Ian Poulter who have all won at least one tournament in this season's PGA Tour.

Perry would also be up against former WM Phoenix Open champions such as Phil Mickelson, Mark Calcavecchia, JB Holmes, Chris DiMarco, Tom Lehman, Rocco Mediate, Aaron Baddeley, Jonathan Kaye and Lee Janzen.

This is a tough field of golfers whose main aspiration is to be the top golfer while Tiger Woods is in hiatus. However, the handicappers had installed Phil Mickelson as the solid favorite to win the WM Phoenix Open in the final round on Sunday.
